"Plenty of bicycle and walking trails" as well as Old Town Folsom's "antique shops, candy stores, coffeehouses and restaurants" are reachable from this "friendly" hotel with a "pretty facade" of wood shingles and stones; inside, things need more work: portions of the common areas seem "shabby", particularly the hallways, and the "older" but "acceptable" rooms "should be updated for better TV reception and channels."

Location was excellent.
Strong, pungent odor in the hotel room. Very unfriendly staff.
While the hotel exterior and location overlooking the river are quite nice, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room had a strong, sharp odor and the sheets/bedding had clearly been used in a smoking room previously. The front desk clerk was very unfriendly, not rude, but we definitely felt as though we were inconveniencing him when we checked in. Quite unpleasant. ...read more

Beautiful setting on the lake with nice trails along the water.
Small lobby.
Beautiful location on the lake right in Old Town Folsom. Lots of quaint shops. Great hiking and biking trails along the lake. Clean and comfortable room. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here.

Rooms are dated, walls are thin.
Location is wonderful along American River. So if you enjoy cycling or running, this is the place to be. However, rooms are dated and walls are thin. This is a moderate to economy level hotel.
